The rupees of VS1856 & VS1857 carry an additional double sprig mark, which has been proven to be of the fruit branches of the 'Ber' tree. The same mark is carried in place of the leaf in the coins of the years VS1862 & VS1863. This mark was earlier associated as the Moran mark and the coins were called 'Morashahi'. The existence of the same symbol during the years Maharaja Ranjit Singh was not in control of Amritsar, proves the legend of Moran as a Myth.
